72-year-old man killed over water dispute with neighbours

A 72-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death over a water dispute in Birpur village of Jarcha area, police said on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Chandi Ram, a resident of the village, allegedly had a
verbal clash with his neighbours over use of water from an irrigation canal in the agricultural fields on Sunday night, they said.
The septuagenarian’s body was recovered from the premises of the neighbours on Monday morning, police added. Police has sent the body for postmortem and a FIR has been lodged against four accused, identified as Jaiveer, Rahul, Mohit and Deepak, who are absconding.
A manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits, they said.
