5-yr-old girl molested by neighbour in Dwarka

In yet another incident, a five-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour in South-West Delhi’s Dwarka area on Monday evening. The accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. 

According to police, the incident took place on late Monday evening when the girl was playing outside her residence in Bharat Nagar area with her friends. In the meantime, her neighbour lured her with chocolates and candies. “The accused managed to get her inside his house where he assaulted her. When the girl started weeping, the accused freed her. She rushed to her residence and narrated the incident to her mother when she noticed the minor girl bleeding,” a police official said. 

The victim’s parents approached North Dwarka police station and filed a complaint. The victim was 

rushed to the hospital where she underwent treatment for her injuries and a medical test was conducted that confirmed rape. A case under the relevant Sections of POCSO Act has been registered against the accused, whose name has not been revealed by the police to hide the identity of the victim. 

“Soon after the complaint was received, a raid was conducted at the house of the accused and he was arrested. He was produced in the local court on Tuesday morning and he has been sent for 14-days police custody,” he added.
