47-yr-old killed by brother for property

A 47-year-old man was shot dead by his younger brother allegedly over a property dispute on Friday night at Bhalswa Dairy in North-West district.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Gulab Singh and the accused is his younger brother, Charan, who is currently absconding.

Gulab was a wrestler-cum-property dealer and is also said to have been connected to the Aam Aadmi Party as a local volunteer.

‘Singh and four of his brothers were having drinks at their ancestral house on Friday evening when the incident occurred,’ said a senior police officer.

The siblings had met to discuss the issue of the division of the property since their mother had passed away 10 days ago.

‘The brothers were having drinks and discussing the matter when suddenly a violent confrontation was triggered between Gulab and Charan over the issue. Immediately, Charan took out a country-made pistol, pumped a bullet into Gulab’ stomach and fled the scene,’ the officer added.
