42-yr-old former MCD employee attempts suicide

After the infamous alleged suicide of Rajasthan-based farmer —  Gajendra Singh, a 42-year-old former MCD employee attempted suicide by hanging himself from a tree in east Delhi’s Shahdara area. He was depressed as he was recently expelled from his job.

The victim has been identified as Kamal, who worked in Shahdara south zone municipal corporation. He is a resident of Vishwas Nagar area.

At around 12.30 pm, many employees who were dismissed from their job were protesting in front of MCD office headquarters at Patparganj.

They were protesting for the last 14 days. After sometime, Kamal climbed a near-by tree and cried out that he would commit suicide. After hearing his threats, other people climbed up the tree to save
him.

It was alleged that Kamal made a knot with the help of the clothes that he was wearing and when he attempted to commit suicide, other ex-employees climbed up the tree in an effort to save him.

They untied the knot and Kamal fell down on the ground.

Eyewitnesses said he was critically injured and was rushed to the hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.
