41-year-old property dealer shot dead

A 41-year-old man, who was a property dealer in Uttam Nagar, was shot dead by three unidentified assailants at the Old Palam Road. The deceased has been identified as Ravinder. According to the police, the incident took place at around 12.30 am on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday when Ravinder was going back from his office in Uttam Nagar to his house in Kakrola in his car. Three assailants travelling in a Swift Dzire car overtook his car at the Old Palam Road where one of them stepped out of the car and fired 6 to 7 rounds of bullets at him, police said. After killing him, they fled from the spot. A passer-by made a PCR call and police rushed the victim to a private hospital. The whole incident was recorded in the CCTV cameras of the nearby shops in the area, a police official privy to the investigation said. Due to darkness, the faces of the assailants are not clear in the footages. “We are trying to analyse the CCTV footages, however, the faces of the three accused persons are not clear. There was one person who stepped out of the car and shot 6 to 7 rounds at Ravinder. He was rushed to a private hospital in the area where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
