40-year-old bizman killed after unknown vehicle hits his scooty

A 40-year-old man was killed after his scooty was allegedly hit by an unknown vehicle on the Punjabi Bagh flyover in West Delhi on Friday night. Police said that the deceased has been identified as Nilesh. He owned a hosiery business. Investigators said that Nilesh was returning home after taking a payment when the accident happened.

Investigators said that the accident took place at around 11 pm on Ring Road’s Punjabi Bagh flyover. After hitting the scooty, the errant vehicle driver fled from the spot.

Nilesh lived with his family in Shalimar Bagh and had gone to take payment from a client in East Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area.

One of the eyewitnesses informed the police after which local police rushed Nilesh to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on admission. Meanwhile, his family alleged that Nilesh was returning home with a payment of Rs 25,000 cash. They further alleged that the cash as well as his wallet was not found by them. Investigators said that they are looking in the matter.

Sources said that in the absence of CCTV cameras near the accident spot, the cops have not been able to identify the killer vehicle or its driver yet.

Meanwhile, police said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC at the Punjabi Bagh police station against the accused. Further investigation is underway.
