4 persons with suspected militant links arrested

Four persons suspected to have links with militant organisations were arrested by police in Alipurduar district with arms and ammunition, a senior police officer said on Tuesday.

Superintendent of Police Akash Megharia said police arrested four persons moving suspiciously in a vehicle from Alipurduar junction-Kalibari area on Monday night.

Police seized a gun, some ammunition and knives from them, the SP said, adding that police was interrogating them to find out whether they had any links with any militant organisation.
