4 held for planning to supply TET answers via SMS

Four people were arrested from <g data-gr-id="13">Naghata</g> in Nadia district for allegedly planning to send answers of West Bengal Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) questions to some people via SMS, police said on Monday.

The TET was held today across the state and around 23 lakh people took part in it. “We came to know that school teacher Swarup Biswas has <g data-gr-id="16">a plan</g> to supply TET answers via SMS in lieu of money and he collected huge money from the TET examinees across the district. We arrested him and recovered some money last night,” Additional Superintendent of Police Ajay Prasad said.

Three others — Sulabh Biswas, Kartik <g data-gr-id="18">Sarder</g> and Sanat Mondal — were also arrested in this connection, Prasad said adding Swarup is the mastermind. A Krishnagar court remanded Swarup to five days’ police custody and 14 days' judicial custody for the three others. Meanwhile, a report from Bankura said a TET examinee died during the examination at Patrasayer.
