4 held for looting Rs 7.8 lakh from collection agent

Four persons were arrested in connection with a Rs 7.8-lakh robbery from a collection agent in East Delhi's Pandav Nagar area.

According to the police, the arrested have been identified as Amit Arya (24), Kapil (20), Raju Bangali (28) and Jitender (20). The police have recovered a Honda Civic Car, a scooty and Rs 50,000 from the possession of the accused.

On September 26, Anil Kumar, a collection agent for a a private company, lodged a police complaint that after collecting Rs 7,79,541, he was heading to the firm’s Panchsheel park office on his motorcycle when the incident took place. 

“As he reached NH-24 after crossing Patparganj underpass, two men, standing on road, pushed him. He lost control and fell on the road. The men, then, thrashed him. Suddenly, a car came from behind and two more men joined the assaulters. Together, the four robbed Anil of his bag, containing the cash, and fled,” said a senior police official.

Passersby informed the police about the incident. Based on technical surveillance and car registration number, the police tracked the accused.
