33 new schools in Delhi, says education minister

The Minister of Education, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Kiran Walia, on Thursday said that Delhi government is committed to upgrade the quality of education in schools in Delhi in order to carve the career and personality of the students. Walia informed that government has also sanctioned the fund for construction of 33 new school buildings in different parts of the capital for facilitation of the students.

Walia said,’Government is providing better facilities and better opportunities for career development in the schools in addition to providing better infrastructure’.

The minister was speaking while she was laying the foundation stone of new government senior secondary school at Tajpur Pahari in Badarpur. The function was attended by the area MP Ramesh Kumar and presided over by area MLA Ram Singh Netaji. Additional Director, School, Anita Setiya, Deputy Director, Renu Sharma, Superintendent Engineer, PWD, Bansal were also present on this occasion.

Walia, speaking on the occasion said that government has sanctioned Rs 2 crore and 13 lakh fund for construction of this school building. The building which will be constructed by April 2013 and will have 36 rooms apart from principal room, library room, staff room, laboratory and wash rooms. These school buildings will be constructed in Mahipalpur, Lalkuan, Kalkaji, Badarpur, Hastsal, Kakrola, Village Paprawat, Wazirpur, Badarpur Khadar, Dhichaon Kala, I.P.Extension, Kondli, Jafrawad, Bakhtawarpur, Bhalaswa, Silampur, Sundernagari, Nasirpur, JTB Nagar, New Jafrawad, Nasirpur-III, Sanoth village, Keshopur, Nilothi, Saraswati Vihar, Khichripur, Rohini Sector-16 and Rohini Sector-24.

Officials said that these school buildings will be constructed with porta cabines having all facilities.

Walia added, ‘The new school building at Tajpur has fulfilled the dream of the area residents who are demanding it for the last 40 years. Government has established five universities in Delhi for brightening the future of the youth of Delhi wishing to achieve higher and technical education. Delhi government is committed to do the best for its citizens.’
