32-year-old stabbed to death in West Delhi

In a road rage case, a 32-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a tempo driver after his bicycle brushed against his vehicle on a busy road in West Delhi’s Nangloi area on Monday, police said.

The accused tempo driver, who fled the scene after the incident, has been identified and search is on to nab him.

A case under Section 302 (murder) of IPC has been registered in connection with the incident, said a senior police official.

According to the police, the incident was reported around 8.45 am when the deceased, identified as Hira Lal, a native of Azamgarh in UP, was going to a construction site where he worked as a labourer. His bicycle brushed past the tempo, which led to an altercation with the driver.

The tempo driver suddenly pulled out a knife and allegedly stabbed Lal three times. Later, passers-by called up the police control room and Lal was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The body was later handed over to his relatives after the post-mortem examination. The accused has been identified and three police teams have been formed to nab him, the official added.
