3-yr-old’s murder: Police yet to arrest the accused

Even a day after a 3-year-old boy was allegedly murdered by setting a room on fire, the police are yet to arrest anyone in this connection.

Shakibul Hossain was sleeping along with his parents inside a room of their house at Kamdebpur area of Amdanga on Friday night.

On Saturday morning local people saw that room was locked from outside and the three family members including the child were charred.

They rescued the victims and rushed them to a hospital. Shakibul was sent to BC Roy Hospital where he died on Saturday evening, while his parents have been undergoing treatment at RG Kar Hospital.

After starting an investigation police suspect that the boy’s paternal uncle Alam Hossain might be involved in the crime.

Police have found some clues which establish that Alam might have locked the door from the outside so that they could not come out of the room and then set the room on fire.

Police suspect that he had set the room on fire by throwing a burning piece of cloth from the window.

Alam has been at large since the incident had taken place which aroused the suspicion of the investigating officers.

Police are interrogating the local people to if there was any rivalry between Alam and Jahangir Hossain, the boys father. Police are conducting raids to nab the culprits.
