3 held for raping woman in moving car

A married woman was gang-raped at gunpoint inside a car and  was then thrown at Singhu border.

The incident came to light on Tuesday. According to the victim, her landlord was also involved in the case.

The victim, reportedly went to Dayal market in Alipur on 2 January at about 3 pm when her landlord, Vikram, forced her into a white car with tinted glasses. Four people were already inside the car.

According to the police, the victim was kidnapped and then raped her at gunpoint while the car was moving.

Police further added that the accused, Vikram, Yogendra, Sunil, Raju and Jitendra threatened her with dire consequences and told her to call her brother and mother who live in Jahangirpuri. Even though many  attempts were apparently made to call the victim’s brother, he did not respond to the accused’s calls as he was scared.

‘The victim was then thrown out of the car near a jungle at 10 pm near Singhu border situated in the outer district and the accused fled the spot. The victim managed to spot a STD booth from where she made a PCR call. The owner of the booth had also called the police immediately after seeing her condition,’ said a police official.

The police have arrested three of the accused, Yogendra, Sunil and Raju, after the medical test confirmed rape. But Vikram and Jitendra are still absconding.

‘We are probing into this matter, and further investigations are in process,’ said a police official.
