3 constables suspended over alleged extortion

After the arrest of one police constable by the Noida Police, three constables have been suspended over alleged involvement in extorting money from a businessman. This apart, 25 other policemen have been sent to the District Police Lines by SSP Dharmendra Singh. 

According to police sources, three constables of the Crime Branch of Ghaziabad Police — Rajiv Mullick, Rajendra Rathi and Neeraj Rathi — along with another constable, demanded a sum of Rs 15 lakh from a businessman and threatened him to falsely  implicate him in criminal cases if he did not give the money. 

According to sources, Rs 1.70 lakh had already been extorted from the businessman and a plan to extort Rs 15 lakh on Tuesday was in the offing. The businessman filed a complaint with Noida Police and Rajiv Mullick was nabbed by the police.
