3 arrested for carrying fake passports

Police have arrested three persons who were travelling to the city with fake passports at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Saturday night. The three accused, who were originally from Nepal flew into the city from Hong Kong. The immigration department at the NSCBI Airport found that the passports which were under their possession were fake. The accused were later handed over to the NSCBI police station. Police have interrogating the three accused who have been identified as Deepak Kumar, Reshamlal Gurung and Sujan Singhal. Police have started an investigation into the incident.

The investigating officers are looking into whether the accused were a part of any international fake currency racket. It may be mentioned that in the last one year many persons have been arrested for travelling into the city with fake currency. Police are trying to know if they were smuggling the notes into the city. The police also suspect that these notes might have been going to other states. In a number of cases police has found that people often use the state as a safe corridor for smuggling fake currency notes. The fake currencies often enter into the state from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar.
