3 and 10-year-old girls raped in separate cases in city

In a shocking incident, a three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her relative at his house in Outer Delhi’s Govindpuri area. Police said that the accused relative has been absconding after the incident. In a similar incident, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her brother-in-law in North-west Delhi’s Bharat Nagar area on Monday. Police have arrested the accused relative in this case.

In the first case, according to the police, the incident was reported by the doctors of a hospital at around 2 am when parents of the girl took her to the hospital after they found her bleeding from her private parts. The parents had gone out for some work and had decided to drop the three-year-old girl in the care of the relative, who visited their house regularly.

Police said that since the accused, a 25-year-old man, unmarried and living alone, often came to the child’s house. Finding that the child was comfortable with the man, the parents decided to drop her at his house.

According to the cops, the girl said that the man first started hitting her and then began sexually assaulting her. When she tried to resist, he slapped and warned her of dire consequences if she tells anyone about the incident.

Police said that they immediately reached the hospital and questioned the parents who told the police about the string of events. A senior police official said that the accused person fled from his house soon after committing the crime.

A case under IPC Section 376 (rape) and POCSO Act has been registered at the Govindpuri police station.
