2nd cut-off out, many courses closed

After the declaration of second cut-off list for admissions in Delhi University on Friday, the mad rush witnessed last year was missing. The reason being the cut-off percentages for popular courses did not show any remarkable drop.

Sources said most colleges had to close admission in various prestigious courses. BA Economics [H] and B.Com [H] courses have been closed in Dayal Singh, Janki Devi Memorial college, Ram Lal Anand college, Shaheed Bhagat Singh [evening], and SGTB Khalsa college. There was no breathing space for BA programing course at Gargi, Lady Shri Ram [LSR], Ramjas, Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Dayal Singh [evening].

Experts are now advising students to select courses judiciously, as the options will further narrow down in the coming days. LSR has closed admissions in English, BA, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science and History.

Admission to History [H] and English [H] courses has been closed at LSR, Kamla Nehru, Motilal Nehru and Sri Venkateswara colleges. There are no seats for Political Science has also run out at Dayal Singh, Daulat Ram, Gargi, IP, Kirori Mal, Ramjas and Bhagat Singh College.

Options are still available for science courses. The third cut-off list is scheduled to be released on 3 July.
