26-yr-old raped by cab driver

A 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a cab driver while she was returning home after a dinner party in Gurgaon on Friday night. According to the police, the victim works for a finance company in Gurgaon. However, the cab did not belong to the company and was a private cab hired by the victim to return home in Delhi’s Inderlok area. Her shift ended at around 7 pm on Friday, after which she went to a restaurant near her office at Gurgaon. After the dinner, one of her friends dropped her at south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar, from where she hired the private cab at around 9.30 pm.

The woman told the police that the cab driver suddenly took the vehicle to a secluded place when she fell asleep on the back seat of the cab and allegedly forced himself on her. The accused also slapped her and threatened to kill her. Later he dropped her at her residence.
