20-year-old girl loses battle, dies after accident in hospital

A 20-year-old Delhi student lost her life after a drunk Uber driver rammed into a stationary truck in Noida. According to reports, the accident occurred near Sector 16A in the wee hours of Friday, September 23, when Kaayum Pegu along with her three friends was travelling back in Uber cab.

While three of Pegu’s friends received injuries and are recovering, Pegu succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday. Pegu was a student of DU’s Miranda House College and faced multiple fractures in the ribs and a serious head injury. 

However, the Uber driver only suffered minor injuries and immediately fled the scene. Reports claim that the driver was drunk and did not slow down even after repeated requests from the passengers. 

The other three students injured in the accident are Tanuz Kalita of SGTB Khalsa College, Siddharth Pathak of Swami Shraddhanand College and Akshara Badola of Mata Sundari College.
