2 techies dead, 1 hurt in cab-truck crash in Noida

Two software engineers died, while another was injured when their cab rammed into a stationary truck on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway late Thursday night, police said.  The police said a case was registered against the errant cab driver, who was on the run.

The victims were identified as Deepak, Swati and Kritika, police said, adding that their families and office management had been informed about the mishap. 

According to the police, the accident took place when the victims, who worked with a software company in Sector 135, were coming to Noida in their office cab. When the cab reached near Sector 131, the driver allegedly lost balance hit the truck. 

Passers-by informed the police about the incident and the victims were taken to the Yatharth Hospital, where Deepak and Swati succumbed to their injuries, while Kritika’s condition was stated to be critical. “We have sent the bodies of Deepak and Swati for postmortem examination and are trying to nab the cab driver. We have also informed the victims’ families,” police said.
