2 suspended for trying to bribe BJP’s Rahul Sinha

An assistant sub-inspector and constable of the city police’s Special Branch were suspended on charges of attempting to give bribe to the national secretary of BJP Rahul Sinha.

Departmental inquiry has been initiated against the ASI Subhashis Roy Chowdhury and constable Aminul Rahman. Police said that the duo went to the state headquarters of BJP and met Sinha. They allegedly offered him money to help them to transit cows across the border to Bangladesh. As told to the police, Sinha didn’t allow them to go out of the office and informed the police.

Policemen from Jorasanko Police Station went to the party’s headquarter and took them to the police station, where they came to know about their identity.

Subsequently, both of them were suspected and deputy commissioner of the Central Division has been asked to probe into the matter. Family members of both the policemen refused to accept that the duo was involved in any such incident.
