2 suicides in 2 days in a family

A 20-year-old man allegedly committed suicide at his relative’s residence in east Delhi’s Krishna Nagar on Tuesday evening. Shockingly, a 23-year-old woman had allegedly committed suicide in the same house on Sunday. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sangeet Rajput.
He allegedly hanged himself from a rope tied on the ceiling fan hook at the top floor of the house. No suicide note was recovered from near his body. Sangeet worked as a lab assistant at a private hospital in Ghaziabad and used to come to his relative’s place at Krishna Nagar quite often.
On Tuesday evening, he went to the top floor to take rest. He locked the door from inside and when he didn’t respond to prolonged banging on the door or phone calls, one of his relatives called up the police control room.
On Sunday, a 23-year-old woman identified as Samiksha was found hanging from the ceiling the same house. Her parents later alleged that she was facing cruel treatment by her husband, Naresh Kumar, for which she took the extreme step. They have been married since 2009.
“The police are investigating both the cases separately and trying to find out link between the two, if any,” said a police official.
