2 shot dead at Tilak Nagar, no arrests yet

Two men were shot dead by two other men at West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area on Thursday night. Police have identified the accused persons and claim that they will make arrests soon.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 10.45 pm near the main market road of Tilak Nagar area when the two victims, Manoj alias Montu and Deepak, both aged between 24 and 25 years had an argument with two other men. According to the police, locals claimed that the heated argument between the two groups escalated into a scuffle when the duo accused opened fire at Manoj and Deepak after which they fled from the spot. Locals in the market made a PCR call and the local police then rushed Manoj and Deepak to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

“Out of the two victims, Manoj is known to have a criminal background. The victims had fought with the two accused many times before in the past. On Thursday night, Manoj and Deepak were having an argument with the accused persons near the market road when the accused fired at them. We have identified the two accused and will make arrests soon,” said Pushpendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West). Police said that the motive behind the double murder could be personal enmity. 

A case of murder has been registered at the Tilak Nagar police station under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC against the two accused persons. Police are trying to nab them.
