In the preliminary investigation, locals informed that two motorcycle-borne men dumped the youth at the spot.

“Since it was a blind murder case, we activated our local intelligence. We scanned through the CCTV footage of the cameras installed near the spot. During extensive search of the spot, we found a Bullet bike few metres away hidden in an isolated spot. Through its registration number, we found that the deceased was one Irfan, a motor mechanic,” said a senior cop.

The official further said: “While scanning the CCTV camera footage, we found out that two youth had a heated argument with Irfan over taking golgappas first from a vendor near the wine shop. In the footage, we saw that both the accused thrashed him and dumped him at the spot.”

The officer added that based on a tip-off, on August 6, they apprehended Sunil from his house in Bhalswa Dairy area. On sustained interrogation, Sunil confessed that the other person with him was Lucky.  Lucky was apprehended on August 24 from his house in Swami Shradhanand Colony.
