2 held for attacking cop

Two persons, who allegedly assaulted and shot at a police team injuring two constables, have been arrested, police said on Tuesday.
Sunil, alias Sonu, 28, and Shailender, alias Ankit alias Ravinder, 22, both residents of Nagla Khajua village of Kashi Ram Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh were arrested on Monday by crime branch from their village on specific information, a senior police official said.
‘Both of them are associated with Sudhir gang and carry a reward of Rs 50,000 for allegedly firing at a police party on the intervening night of 31 March and 1 April last year when they had spotted 15 people moving suspiciuosly near L block drain,’ DCP crime S B S Tyagi said.
On Monday, police got information that two decoits of the gang would come to meet someone near Patiyali of Kashi Ram Nagar distict in Uttar Pradesh. A trap was laid and at about 4.30 pm and the two were apprehended.
