2 dead, one injured by unidentified reptiles

Tension ran high at the Jangalmahal areas of Raipur block in Bankura after two persons died and one other was injured after being bitten by some unidentified reptiles.

The villagers are scared to come out of their houses, especially after sun down. They said that some poisonous reptiles might have infested the area. These creatures come out of their hideouts in the evening.

Many of the villagers were attacked by the unidentified creature. They have also aroused the attention of the local administration that has started a probe into the incident.

The intervention of the forest department has also been sought by the villagers in this regard.

It want learnt that Anisuddin Seikh, a resident of Shyamsundar village was coming home on Tuesday evening when he was attacked by some unknown creatures.

His family members spotted some scratch marks on several parts of his body. The victim soon started vomiting.

His family members rushed him to Raipur village hospital and he was later shifted to Bankura Sammilani Medical College and Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

The victim died in the hospital later. The victim’s family members said that it could be some poisonous reptiles which had bitten the victim.

Many have, however, raised a question here that how a reptile can scratch the body of a human.

The villagers also claimed that a housewife from the village also died in a similar fashion on the very next day.

The local people claimed that another person has been undergoing treatment at the hospital after being attacked by the creature.

The villagers have become so panic stricken that they preferred not to come out of their houses in the evening. Even the bus drivers are avoiding the area where such incidents were reported.

The market areas of Motgoda village in Raipur block turns into a desolate place after the sun down due to the fear of the unidentified animal.
