19-year-old stabbed to death in Delhi, 1 held

A 19-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death by a 23-year-old man over a girl in Outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area on Saturday night.

The police said the deceased was identified as Sushil Kumar. He used to work as a TV mechanic and lived with his family in the Inder Enclave area of Kirari, Aman Vihar.

The police said the incident took place around 8:30pm near the Sanatam Dharam temple in Inder Enclave Phase-2 when Sushil got into a heated argument with his friend Sonu over a girl.  Sources said while the argument between Sushil and Sonu had ended, the latter’s friend Rahul, along with their other friend Bhura, met Sushil near the temple.

A verbal duel ensued between Sushil and Rahul. Bhura, too, supported Rahul. Soon, the argument turned violent as Rahul allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors from a nearby shop and stabbed Sushil at the chest.

The police said a passer-by made the PCR call, after which a police team arrived and took Sushil to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Aman Vihar police station. Rahul was arrested from his in-laws house in Prem Nagar on Sunday, a senior police official said, adding that efforts were on to nab Bhura, who was on the run.

According to the police, Rahul and Bhura are residents of the Kirari area and work as ‘dhol’ players. The incident took place when they were going to attend a function.
