19-year-old hangs girl herself

A 19-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in south-east Delhi on Saturday. No suicide note was recovered from the house.

According to an official close to investigation, the incident was reported to police at around 9.30 am. 

‘A team immediately reached the crime spot and found that the girl, identified as Asha, hanging from a ceiling fan of her room. Asha recently passed her Class 12 exams with good marks,’ he added.

At the time of the incident the victim’s mother was in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

When cops rushed her to the nearby Majeedia hospital she was declared brought dead on arrival. A post-mortem examination of the deceased was conducted and her mother was informed about the incident who is on her way to Delhi.
