18-yr-old Tihar fugitive held

The 18-year-old fugitive from Tihar, who escaped the jail premises on June 27 evening, was held from a village in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh by a joint team comprising Delhi Police and Tihar security officials on Tuesday evening. According to a source in Tihar, after a few hours of his escape, <g data-gr-id="11">Javeid</g> called up his relatives back home and informed them that he was coming. By then, Delhi Police had already put his relative’s phone numbers under surveillance and tracked <g data-gr-id="12">Javeid</g>. The police team was accompanied by Tihar security officials who recognised <g data-gr-id="13">Javeid</g> by his appearance picked him up from Gonda. <g data-gr-id="14">Javeid</g> was nabbed at around 5 pm and brought to Delhi, where he was later taken to the Hari Nagar police station for further interrogation.
