18 RSS leaders were LeT’s next target: Subhan claims

Days after the arrest of LeT operative Abdul Subhan from Delhi, he disclosed his future plans about abducting the shortlisted RSS leaders and then demanding ransom against their release from their family members. However, senior police officials in Delhi police Special Cell who are interrogating Subhan have not disclosed the names of the RSS leaders who were LeT’s target.

Sources have confirmed that Subhan was assigned to prepare a list of all the RSS leaders from which 18 leaders were shortlisted. These 18 RSS leaders are from Delhi and Nagpur.

‘Plans were made to target businessmen and demand huge ransom from them. But to convey a strong message to the Indian government and the society that the outfit is against all those who are against Muslim community and are responsible of creating problems for the Muslims. Thus, LeT made a deadly plan to target RSS leaders,’ he revealed to the interrogators.

‘RSS needed to be beaten down as they posed a threat to the Muslims’, he further disclosed. Subhan was tasked with recruiting youth from religious places and he claims that he had already selected around 20 youth for the job. Those 20 newly hired youths were instructed to keep a tab on the shortlisted RSS leaders. For each RSS leader, one person had been assigned to keep a track on his movements and their security arrangements.

Surprisingly, Aftab Ansari, kingpin in the abduction of west Bengal’s shoe baron kidnapping case, is a part of LeT’s new module against RSS.

Ansari is lodged in Kolkata jail but still he is actively participating in most of LeT’s modules in Delhi and Kolkata. If sources are to be believed, Subhan also claimed that Ansari had access to a cell phone and was in touch with Jawed Baluchi in Karachi.
