16 Indian airspace violations from Pak, China this year: Govt

Sixteen cases of transgression into the Indian airspace have been recorded this year from China and Pakistan, the highest since 2012, Lok Sabha was informed on Friday. Last year, 12 cases of transgression of the Indian airspace were registered while six took place in 2012, Defence Minister
Manohar Parrikar said.
“During the last two years and the current year, helicopters of Pakistan and China have transgressed into Indian airspace,” he said in a written reply while giving the figures.
He also said the incidents of violation of Indian airspace are taken up with the countries
concerned through established channels, including with the External Affairs Ministry.
