16 drug samples from govt hospitals failed dept test

Sixteen samples of drugs procured from ten government hospitals in the national Capital did not pass the test of Delhi’s Drug Control Department between April 2010 and March 2015, according to an RTI reply. This information was given by the Drug Control Department of Delhi in reply to an Right To Information (RTI) query by activist Rajhans Bansal. Drug samples for testing had been selected from medical stores at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Central Medical Store MCD Building (Civil Lines), Safdarjung Hospital, AIIMS, Shri Dada Dev Matri Avum Shishu Chikitsalaya (<g data-gr-id="16" style="color: #3b3b3b; font-size: 11px;">Dabri</g>), Lok Nayak Hospital, GTB Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital and Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital. As per the information given by the department, anti-inflammatory drug <g data-gr-id="17" style="color: #3b3b3b; font-size: 11px;">Regunac</g>, painkillers Diclofenac and Aspirin procured from Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Mongolpuri, and Atenolol, to treat high blood pressure, and Aspirin from AIIMS failed to clear the test.
