10-year-old girl raped in Faridabad temple premises

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man on a temple premises in the Sector 22 area, the police said on Monday.

The girl, a resident of Sector 16, alleged that she was raped by the accused Bunty, a drummer at the Vaishno Devi temple, in a room on the temple  premises on Sunday, a police spokesperson said.

The temple priest had asked the girl to go and keep some clothes of idols in the room on the first floor, police said, adding that Bunty followed her to the room, where he allegedly raped her. 

When she raised an alarm, Bunty fled after threatening her with dire consequences, police said. A case has been registered against Bunty, police said, adding that an investigation was underway in the matter.
