10 Nepalese labourers killed in U’khand landslide

Ten Nepalese labourers including one woman and two children lost their lives after a landslide hit their huts in the Chakrata area on Sunday mid-night. The mishap took place on Sunday night when the labourers, who were working on a project under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, were asleep in their huts in Teoni-Hanol area when strong winds and thundershowers triggered a landsliden, District Magistrate Ravinath Raman said. 

As per State Emergency Operation Centre report from Dehradun, 10 people died and four injured in natural disaster. The injured has been admitted to Doon hospital on Monday.

It took hours for JCB machine to remove dead bodies. All senior administrative officers including revenue police reached the spot in the Monday morning. CM Hrish Rawat ordered DM to release relief money immediately to the families of dead persons as per rules and regulations.
