1 killed, another injured in accident

One person was killed and another injured when the moped they were riding was allegedly hit by a vehicle from behind near Aurobindo Marg in New Delhi, police said on Monday. The incident occurred around midnight on Saturday when the two friends, both race jockeys, were on their way to Nizamuddin to have dinner, said a senior police officer. While Harkesh Kumar (25), who was riding pillion was killed on the spot, Shakir Ahmed (40) was injured and is currently undergoing treatment at RML Hospital, he said. “Both of them were wearing helmets and no traces of alcohol were found in their blood samples,” the officer said.
