1 killed, 2 injured as wall collapses in Jungpura

One labourer died, while two others were  injured after a wall and some debris collapsed on them while they were digging a basement in A-Block area of Jungpura in South-East Delhi, police said. 

The fire department received a call around 4.40 pm about the incident. It took around half-an-hour for the firemen to rescue the victims. The victims were taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where one of them was declared dead, police said.

The police said that after the wall collapsed, the debris fell on a gas pipeline, resulting into leakage. However, the leakage was stopped after the LPG department was informed about the incident. No blast took place and no one was  injured due to the leakage, police said.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Amar Mandal (35). Sujan Mandal (20) and Dhananjay Mandal (40) were injured in the mishap. 

The police have informed the victims’ family members and are investigating the matter.
