... Logs into TCS in lone visit to pvt entity on India tour

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang came to the TCS facility here in the only visit to a private enterprise during his three-day official visit to India. TCS, which opened its first office in China in 2002, is present in six locations in China — Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Dalian and Hangzhou.

‘We welcome Indian business houses to invest in our country so that there is joint growth of the two economies. We will do everything to ensure that you don’t face any roadblocks to invest in our country,’ Li told Tata group officials.

He interacted with TCS and Tata employees in China from the Shanghai Global Development Centre through live video conference and saw exhibits of the latest Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar XF models.

In 2005, TCS was invited by the Chinese government to form a joint venture supported by the National Development and Reforms Commission to create a large-scale global offshoring base in that country. TCS’s core banking system is already being used by as many as 14 Chinese banks, including Bank of China, China Construction Bank and Macau Taifung Bank.

JLR has been investing in sales and after-sales infrastructure to develop an extensive dealer network in China with 163 authorised dealers.
