For the spirit of the band

Want to rewind to the 70s? Tune in to Vish-Kash which is all set to bring back the 70s with their hippy grungy music. With Vishnu on the guitar and vocals, Kash on the drums and Tez on the bass, this band will perform live and give a preview on their upcoming movie, which is about the band itself. The lyrics are catchy and inspired from people around them and penned by Vishnu. Millennium Post caught up with the band. Excerpts:

What’s the story of your band?

We came together for the first time as a band in 2007 at a Delhi school. We started with  performing some cover songs of bands like Nirvana and Metallica at various places. Since 2007, we started composing our own songs. Then on we have been  focusing  on making more and more songs from the experiences  we have gathered.

When did the idea of the movie start? What inspired you to do the story?

The idea of making a movie on the band began when we realised that somewhere people knew about bands and the life of musicians. So it struck us that it was time to tell this story from our own perspective.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

Life is a great learning experience and we have learned in many ways. From the surroundings to the people we meet everyday, it has somewhere down the line inspired us.

What kind of music do you follow?

We follow Nirvana, Offspring, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Green Day, Creed, Audioslave, Coldplay, John Mayer, Indian Ocean, Agni, to name a few. We are inspired by the unique lyrics and the kind of music they play.

Why do you feel it’s important to promote the band culture?

It is important to let people into the lives of the bands as people are forgetting the spirit of the band and what the spirit of live music has on it.
