Young and dancing

They say dance is an art form which is in congruence with worshiping the almighty. Couple it with the innocence of young children, the divinity definitely multiplies. Presenting the combination will be fifty young dancers who will display their talent at Odissi ke Rang, Bachpan ke Sang.

Trained under Shagun Bhutani, the Seraikella Chhau exponent at her training institute Madhyam, the performance by them is a part of their curriculum before they break for summer holidays.

All the kids performing Odissi dance are from the age group 6 to 17. The dance performance is their reverance to traditional Odissi dance called Seraikella Chhau which is held every year. The main objective of the dance is to enhance their knowledge of stage craft in addition to its traditional repertoire of their chosen styles.

The performance will be followed by Senior Odissi danseuse Padmashri Ranjana Gauhar who will award the children with certificates of participation. Their learning has been their constant struggle to find new meanings by going deeper to explore their limitless boundaries through collaborative performance.
