Yogendra Yadav arrives on a cycle rickshaw to file nomination papers

Yadav shook hands with local Muslims and stopped by at the Gurudwara before filing his nomination. Addressing the supporters outside the Mini Secretariat he said that AAP hopes to bring dynastic politics to an end.
‘Today is the day of hope. We do not just hope to win the elections but to change the dynastic politics in the country. This is not just my hope, this is the hope of every citizen of this country’, said the AAP ideologue.
He also said that the AAP will bring a change that will be acceptable to all. ‘We will not just change the government. We will bring in a change that will ensure better and transparent governance. The country has had enough of corruption and scams. This is a time for change’, said Yadav.
Filing his nomination, Yadav and his wife Madhulika have shown movable assets worth Rs 81 lakh and Rs 43 lakh, respectively. Yadav also possessed immovable assets worth Rs 1.3 crores, which consists of 2 acres of agricultural land and a shop in Rewari.
AAP leaders and supporters were greeted by pro-Modi slogans by a few BJP supporters while leaving the venue. ‘Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP are misleading poor people. They couldn’t deliver anything in Delhi. AAP is useless’, said one of the supporters.
Yadav criticised the BJP on micro-blogging site Twitter. He accused them of disrupting his meetings. ‘And again some BJP members trying to disturb my meetings’, he tweeted.
Besides Yogendra Yadav, four other candidates including one independent filed their nomination on Thursday.
Sitting MLA Rao Dharampal from Congress, Dharampal Rathee of BSP and Zakisr Hussain of INLD also filed their nomination. Hussain, a two-time MLA from Tauru contested the 2009 general elections as a BSP candidate. BJP candidate Rao Inderjit Singh is due to file his nomination on Friday.
