Yes, he can!

Pitching himself for the giant battle, Kejriwal said he would take support of the local people in the same manner that Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya had garnered support to establish Banaras Hindu University. It may be recalled that the AAP leader had defeated Congress veteran Sheila Dikshit in the last Delhi assembly elections.

Braving the stiff resistance posed by Bharatiya Janata Party workers in the city since his arrival to this temple city, Kejriwal held a road show in the city before addressing an impressive rally late afternoon. Earlier, the AAP leader took a holy dip in the Ganges and paid obeisance at Sankatmochan, Kashi Vishwanath and Kaal Bhairav temples before taking out the road show and addressing the rally.

Kejriwal vowed to defeat Modi after facing hostile reception from the BJP leader’s supporters. ‘Let’s see what the people of Varanasi say, as of now we are preparing to ask them and seek their approval for the contest,’ Kejriwal said.

In his speech, Kejriwal called upon the people to convert this election into a revolution to defeat the combine of UPA and NDA and establish rule of the people. ‘The moot question before us is to save the country which is certainly unsafe in the hands of Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party,’
he said.

Without mincing words, he said Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and BJP PM nominee Narendra Modi were playing into the hands of corporate groups of Mukesh Ambani and Adani. ‘They are flying in their aircraft and in turn they (Ambani, Adani) are dictating terms to them,’ he alleged.
