Yamuna E-way accident: 3 dead including child

In a tragic road accident on the Yamuna Expressway on Tuesday, a 3-year-old boy, his father and aunt died while two others from the family, a one-year-old infant and 26-year-old mother suffered grievous injuries. Police said that the family met with the accident when their vehicle hit another stationed on the carriageway.
According to the police, the accident took place some 16-km from the zero point at the Agra-Greater Noida side of the carriageway. The one, Umesh Chand, was driving the tempo while the other occupants were sitting beside him. He could not spot the stationary truck and rammed in to it. The impact of the accident was so high that Umesh’s vehicle was badly damaged and the occupants, sitting inside, suffered multiple injuries.
The passers-by informed police and a rescue team took them to Kailash hospital in Greater Noida where two declared brought dead while another one succumbed later. Two other victims were admitted at ICU where their condition was stated to be critical. The deceased were identified as Umesh Chand (30) and his son Gagan (3). Chand’s wife Anu (26) and one-year-old daughter Mahi (1) escaped with minor injuries. His sister Usha (28) received critical injuries and was admitted in the ICU at Kailash Hospital. She also succumbed to injuries in the evening.
