Yamuna Authority gives its nod for a host of development projects

The decision was taken at the 48th board meeting of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) where chairman, Rama Raman gave his nod for the required amendment in the Detailed Project Reports (DPR).

The entry-exit ramp would be constructed by Jaypee at Bajna. The entire process will be monitored by Yamuna Authority CEO, PC Gupta who has been authorised to take further action.

PC Gupta also said that the board members have decided to introduce 3 per cent reservation for disabled people in future residential schemes.

Speaking about the need for introducing reservation, Gupta said, ‘Earlier there was horizontal reservation for individuals under Scheduled Caste category but the physically challenged were bereft of this facility. We are planning to introduce 3% horizontal reservation for handicapped and visually challenged would get 1% reservation. We have sent the proposal to the government and once it is cleared, we will implement it.’

The Authority has also approved the demand of UP Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL) for an additional five acres land to set up the 765 KV power sub-station in Jehangirpur village. Earlier, it had allotted 75 acres land for setting up the biggest sub-station in UP.

Gupta also said that the board has given its nod for the layout of various sectors including residential sector 22D, institutional sector 22 E, and industrial land in sector 32 and 33. He added that there is 250 acre land for the purpose of mixed land use in sectors 19 and 25.

Talking about the Yamuna e-way deadlock between farmers, developers and the Yamuna Expressway Authority, Gupta said if the authority accepts the demand of 64% compensation to farmers, the cash component loss would be 61 crore.
