Yadav Singh’s custody extended by Gzb court

A CBI court here on Tuesday extended the judicial remand of Noida’s former chief engineer Yadav Singh till March 15 in a corruption case.

On February 17, Special Judge G Sridevi sent Yadav Singh to 14-day judicial custody after he was presented in court at the end of his 13-day Central Bureau of Investigation remand.

The special judge had extended thrice the CBI custody of Yadav Singh, who was arrested by the agency on February 3 for allegedly abusing his official position in awarding contracts and causing wrongful loss to the exchequer.

The CBI had registered a case on July 30, 2015, against Yadav Singh, the then chief engineer, and other unknown persons under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act for corrupt practices in laying of underground cables worth Rs 9,202 lakh (approx) and other charges, following the July 16 order of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court.
