Wrong medicine kills youth

A 25-year-old man died due to the supposedly reckless behaviour of a compounder of Ambay Hospital in Ghaziabad. On Sunday evening, the victim, identified as Manoj Soni, who was suffering from stomach ache, had gone to the hospital where a compounder has allegedly injected him with a wrong medicine, resulting in his death.

Manoj, an engineer, was a resident of Pasonda area in Ghaziabad. He was working with an IT firm in Noida. He had lived with his family. Sundays were Manoj's weekly off. When he complained of severe pain in stomach, his family had suggested him to visit a doctor.

In the evening, unable to bear anymore, Manoj had gone to Ambay Hospital in Rajender Nagar. There he was injected by a compounder. After which he went back home and a few hours later, he died. According to Manoj's family, he died due to wrong medication given by the compounder.

When Millennium Post contacted the hospital staff of Ambay Hospital, they denied the whole incident. While the SP -City of Ghaziabad was unavailable for comments.

The family members of Manoj are planning to protest in front of the hospital on Monday morning.

The family is yet to register a formal complaint with the police against the hospital staff. Manoj was taken to another hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

The body was sent for the postmortem and the autopsy report is yet to come.
