Magnitude 6.8 earthquake strikes Bolivia

La Paz (Bolivia): A powerful 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck deep beneath Bolivia on Monday, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.
The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at 10:40 a.m. local time and it was centered 127 kilometers southeast of Tarija, Bolivia.
The epicentre was 557 kilometers below the surface.
The quake was not felt in Bolivia's capital of La Paz, but it caused people to evacuate office buildings that swayed as far away as Sao Paulo, Brazil, some 3,000 kilometers from Tarija.
