One of the largest slums in Dhaka catches fire, which is said to have ruined hundreds of homes leaving thousands displaced, Bangladesh Police said.
However, incidents of casualties have not been reported as yet as per reported by Xinhua news agency.
The slum, called Korail-Boubajar, is a home to 300,000 dwellers.
According to the Police, eighteen units rushed to the spot at around 2 a.m.
One of the firefighters said that the blaze was doused at around 7 a.m. and also added that the cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed.
He added that at least 500 homes made of scrap sheet iron, plastic and cardboard have been completely demolished.
