Workshop held on occupational health

A workshop was organised by Center for Environmental and Occupational Health [CEOH], Maulana Azad Medical College, in association with Society for Advancement of Occupational and Environment Health [SAOEH] on occupational health and safety, on Thursday.

Shakti Sinha, Principal Secretary [Power] Delhi government and CMD - Delhi Transco Ltd inaugurated this workshop.

Speaking on the occasion, Sinha stressed upon the importance of improving conditions at the work place which will ensure safety, well being and comfort of the workers.

Sinha said, ‘The workers in the power sector are always on their job to ensure uninterrupted power supply which gives them exposure to occupational health hazards. This continuous exposure may made them sick and enhances the chances of electrocution, fire, explosion, fall or other accidents. By adopting safety measure these situation can be prevented.’

The workshop was organised for the power sector workers and around 50 managers and executives attended the workshop.

The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Ramesh Naryan CEO BYPL, Gopal Saxena CEO, BRPL, Pravir Sinha CEO NDPL, Dr AK Aggarwal Dean Maulana Azad Medial College and among others.
