Work will help SAD-BJP stick to power: Badal

The SAD-BJP combine would again form government in Punjab after 2017 assembly polls, CM Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday said exhuding confidence in the “unprecedented” development work carried out by the alliance.

Badal said people of Punjab have time and again reposed faith in the “people-friendly” and “development-oriented policies” of the SAD-BJP alliance.

“Owing to unprecedented development of the state and major initiatives for well being of all the sections of society, the alliance will come back to power after the assembly elections slated to be held in 2017.

“There is hardly any doubt that people of state will elect the alliance government for third consecutive term after these polls,” Badal said on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan programme in Khadoor Sahib assembly segment here on Sunday.

The five-time CM also advised newly appointed state Congress chief Amarinder Singh to shun the “politics of confrontation”. “People of Punjab have rejected the political approach of the Amritsar MP twice in 2007 and 2012,” he said, asking the former Chief Minister to “learn lessons” from his trounce in yesteryears and resort to politics of consensus both within his party and outside.

“Captain was rejected because of vendetta politics pursued by him whereas people like us because we do not believe in this type of politics,” said Badal. Listing out government initiatives, Badal said the state has begun a massive drive to fill 1.13 lakh vacant posts in various departments, adding that the process to fill these posts would be completed very soon.
