Work for India’s first Night Safari on track

The work for India’s first night safari is going on swiftly.  After the Uttar Pradesh cabinet gave its nod to the ambitious project that would be the fourth largest in the world, the Greater Noida Authority has started the hunt for a Financial and Transaction Advisor (FTA).

The FTA would be responsible for project structuring, selection of developer and project management of the Night Safari. While the final date of submission for bids is 6 November, the eventual bidding process will commence from 19 November.

A Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) official said that the applicant is required to have a company for at least ten years with a minimum turnover of Rs 300 crore in the last three financial years. Once the choice of developer is established, work on the structure would begin next year.

The ambitious project would be set up on the lines of open zoological gardens in Singapore and China and would be built at a cost of Rs.678 crore. GNIDA is planning to develop the structure on 102.3 hectares of land in the city. It would be set up based on public-private partnership model.

The official added that the purpose of the Night Safari is to create awareness about environment & ecology.  Further, this unique concept will allow visitors to witness animals at night in the open wilderness.
